The region of Bavaria

With typical picturesque Bavarian houses, quaint gardens and cute inns, Grainau doesn’t disappoint. It also happens to sit at the foot of Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze. During this tour you also visit the municipality of Berchtesgaden, high in the Bavarian Alps and just across the border with Austria. About half of the terrain is protected by the National Park Berchtesgaden, which offers wonderful hiking and other outdoor opportunities. The park is also home to the pristine Lake Königsee, the country’s highest lake.
