FFF - Fun For Families

Share the thrill of learning with your children and grandchildren on one of our specially designed multi-generational programs. This program welcomes parents with children and/or grandparents with grandchildren. Experienced study leaders share a series of educational recreational activities specially designed to enhance your travel experience for you to share with children ages 7 – 13.

Imagine reaching a 10’000 feet high glacier in the world’s first revolving gondola, riding an inner tube on the snow, and walking through an ice-grotto. Spend a night at a mountain climber's hut and learn how to handle a cross-bow like the Swiss hero William Tell. Experience how the Swiss used to live (and some still do) in over 90 original buidings from all regions of Switzerland. Watch them work, witness old customs and meet 250 different Swiss native farm animals at Ballenberg. Ride the Swiss train system, chair-lifts, postal busses and pedal-steamers.

How Strenuous are the Hikes?

This program takes place on mountainous terrain, occasionally with 1200 feet elevation gains or losses. Walks can last from 2 to 3,5 hours, and may cover up to 4 miles. There are possibilities to take local transportation should the hike be too demanding. Some paths follow mountain trails, other tracks. With loose stones, occasionally steps. Some days we walk on muddy roads and through meadows. Participants should be in good physical condition with walking experience!
